NS Software Services has the expertise and in-house resources to provide computer-based instruction on multiple network environments and hardware platforms. We author in Authorware, Icon Author, QUEST, and most clients’ software presentation packages. We deliver the courseware on DOS, WINDOWS, MACINTOSH, and UNIX platforms. One example is the cd-rom application we did for The Childrens Hospital, in Denver. This application’s target population is medical interns enrolled in Surgical Pediatrics. Before graduating, each intern is required to complete this unusual medical application that demonstrates rare deformities and syndromes. This CBT uses testing and scoring it is similar in design to the jeopardy game, which offers a challenge to the most well trained medical student. Instruction covered 80 hours of training on both the MAC and PC platforms.

NS Software Services is well versed in the support and implementation of the various printed material and paper products found in office environments. We pride ourselves on eliminating paper products and making searchable CD-ROM databases that place the printed media at the users demand. To accomplish this task we work on or off site with the client while providing them with a paperless workplace.

NS Software Services has been a leader in developing training systems for United Airlines, making formal classroom training for their employees a take home laptop computer process. Their old course material was the standard audio tape and 35mm slide configuration. We streamlined this process, making it a highly interactive computer-based training system, with delivery on a CD-ROM. We develop both active and passive training systems, where video is on demand in real time, audio, text, and graphics are manipulated simultaneously on the screen, with both positive and negative feedback employed. A managing system tracks student progress and records standings as to percent correct.

NS Software Services has been a pioneer in the development of soft video, now called fractal video. We have developed the ability to play full motion, full screen, 30 frames a second, in both DOS and WINDOWS platforms. This video was used on a recent Air Force Federal Retirement Training Program designed and developed by our staff. What makes this so appealing to clients is no additional hardware is required to play it on users systems. This video is all software compressed and decompressed and only needs a 91 kilobytes refresh rate to sustain high quality delivery.

NS Software Services has the expertise not only to develop maintenance simulation training, but to also develop models required when the client's training system is one of a kind or single channel where video taping cannot be accomplished due to cost. 3D simulation and the ability to capture the system integration make us one of the few vendors with experience in this field. We installed the first Radar Simulator totally on videodisc using 12 workstations for the Air Force.

NS Software Services is currently developing a total interactive videodisc of microslides for BIODISC, Inc. With more than 20 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of such products, NS Software Services is a leader in this technology. We are not only creating an encyclopedia of more than 4700 images all in a barcode selection process, but creating an interactive searchable database and query system on an additional cd-rom. The expertise, in-house, allows clients to capitalize and have products that can reach a large variety of user groups.

NS Software Services offers expert systems that have a highly simulated presentation with a very high degree of interactivity. These systems employ extensive branching, maximum remediation opportunity (supports multiple levels of errors), real-time event simulation with minor equipment limitations. Our systems can interface with other output devices, and accomplish this through Computer-Managed Instruction. The media used are text, full-motion fractal video, audio, complex animations, and graphics. These training applications fulfill the need to duplicate the real environment where training takes place. This approach is ideal for the pending Marine Corps Project.

NS Software Services has in-house capability to use off-the-shelf software packages such as Authorware, Icon Author, Toolbook, CBT Express, QUEST, Visual Basic, and assorted graphics packages to develop any type of multimedia interactive training, database, or presentation application. We pride ourselves by having the greatest flexibility when it comes to clients needs.

We can take any printed, taped, or filmed material a client may wish to convert and write this data on our own cd-roms. We take pride in burning our own media in-house and accomplish this with the latest Sony equipment. We specialize in working with clients who could not produce cd-roms, due to cost, and deliver each product with the personal touch of satisfaction. This is proven by the returning customers who bring us other applications. Demo disks are encouraged so clients can see a sample of what normally turns into larger and more profitable projects.

One of the many services we provide is converting audio tape to digital wave files or to other digital audio file formats. We have created XA, Audio Compact Discs, Redbook, and MIDI file formats for applications too numerous to count. The ability to make talking menus, music, and help audio files makes this a key part of interactive multimedia applications.

Not only do we incorporate unique software tools in all multimedia applications, we will design, build, and show all necessary tools needed to make the client's customized application stand alone.
